NÄIDE: Rahvusvahelise Tsiviillennunduse Organisatsiooni (ICAO) nõuetele vastava passipildi saamiseks peab biomeetriahõivesubjekt astuma mõninaid samme, näiteks eemaldama prillid, vaatama otse kaamerasse ja mitte naeratama jms. Need sammud on biomeetrilise hõive protsess.
Märkus 1. Kõik biomeetrilise hõive protsessid ei anna tulemuseks biomeetrilist hõivet.

EXAMPLE
To obtain an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) compliant passport photograph, the biometric capture subject will have to undertake a number of steps e.g. remove glasses, look directly at the camera and not smiling, etc. These steps are the biometric capture process.
Note 1. Not all biometric capture processes result in a biometric capture.
Note 2. The biometric capture process may involve a single biometric capture device or may be distributed over time and space in such a way that there is no single definable biometric capture device.
